Sleaford Striders is the athletics club which gives running opportunities and guidance for runners at every stage of the hobby. From those just taking up the sport to experienced runners, we offer something for everyone.

We are Clubmark acredited. This is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards. Our Certificate.

The club has a long history within the town which is epitomized by the highly successful Sleaford Half Marathon which takes place annually.

Our focus is on enjoying what we do! Ask any Strider why they joined and they will offer you a mixture of reasons from looking for new friends to gaining training partners and tips!

As a club, we regularly travel to races in groups, so lifts can be shared. See the Fixtures page for details of forthcoming races.

Importantly to many members, we also have a regular social gathering to undo some of the good work we’ve done whilst working hard on the roads. We also organise an annual weekend challenge, which has taken us around various parts of the country for many enjoyable running and social weekends.

So whether you’ve been inspired by the Cancer Research Race for Life, Sport Relief, Lincoln 10k or the London Marathon, why not give us a try?

Training Sessions

We welcome new members throughout the year. We train in groups to suit all abilities and no one gets left behind or has to run on their own. The club has a team of qualified coaches who are happy to advise any member who expresses an interest in progressing. If you’d prefer to arrange to meet someone in advance, please contact Clive Holden on 01529 307735 and he’ll be happy to tell you more about the Striders. You are more than welcome to just turn up at any of the following:
